About Spring Oscars Nether Currie

Located in the south west of the city of Edinburgh and based from the dining hall within Nether Currie Primary School, Spring Oscars @ Nether Currie offers out of school childcare throughout the year.

During term time, our breakfast club is open each morning from 0730hrs, where children can enjoy a healthy and nutritious breakfast, preparing them for the school day ahead. The breakfast club is a sociable environment where children and staff sit together for a chat while having their breakfast. Children can also access our wide range of toys and resources to enjoy some play time before school. Our fantastic staff team will ensure the children arrive in the care of their class teacher safely and on time each morning.

The after school club is also based from the dining hall at Nether Currie Primary School and is open until 1800hrs each day during term time. Our staff team ensure all children arrive safely and are signed into the club before providing a healthy and nutritious snack. It’s then time for activities and play with children using our wide range of toys and resources to facilitate indoor and outdoor play opportunities.

We are very fortunate at Nether Currie to enjoy direct access into the school playground and playing field where the amount of play opportunities are endless. Our staff team working in collaboration with the children to plan and evaluate our programme of activities. Spring Oscars @ Nether Currie is unique in that it is our first setting to have a PANCo (Physical Activity and Nutritional Co-ordinator). Claire Walls, our Club Manager, has used her studies and knowledge to implement a garden project with the children, where they have made their own garden area and continue to develop it by growing their own produce, decorating rocks and generally digging every day!
