Bishops Hull Receive “GOOD” Report

We are over the moon to share that our Spring Bishops Hull Nursery received a “GOOD” in their recent Ofsted inspection on the 25th of October 2024.

Here are some of the highlights from the report:

  • The provider supports staff well to develop their practice. For example, staff have refreshed their understanding of the nursery safeguarding procedures. They have also completed ‘safer sleeping’ training. This has helped to consolidate their awareness of the importance of monitoring sleeping children

  • Staff encourage children’s communication and language well overall. Older children listen attentively to staff and follow instructions, such as in their action songs. They begin to use more complex words, such as ‘magnetic’, in context. Babies start to repeat familiar single words. Staff reinforce words and phrases for children with English as an additional language to encourage their speech.

  • There is an open and positive culture around safeguarding that puts children’s interests first.

  • Children develop an interest to learn through their play. Staff monitor children’s progress and plan activities to build on what they know and can do. Babies explore the colourful ribbons and musical shakers with interest. Older children become fascinated with the raindrops they see on the fencing and start to count them.

We spoke with Kayleigh Parsons, Senior Nursery Manager at Spring Bishops Hull, who was over the moon with the result.

We are thrilled to share the recent Ofsted outcome, which highlighted our commitment to providing a nurturing and engaging environment for your children. We are proud to receive a “Good” judgement, reflecting our staff’s hard work and dedication.

One of the key aspects noted in the report was the strong partnership we have with you, our parents. Your involvement is invaluable and contributes to the positive experiences we create for your children every day.

It was noted how our older children take the initiative to support the younger ones, whether it’s helping with simple tasks like doing up zips or sharing their knowledge through play, such as sharing the bikes outside.

We also take great joy in how the inspector spoke about how explorers engage in messy play, such as exploring crushed-up cereal or spaghetti. These activities are not just fun; they play a crucial role in their development!

Our broad curriculum is designed to promote confidence and curiosity, allowing children to learn through play. We believe that this approach lays a strong foundation for their future learning.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to building on this report as a setting.
