All our people can apply to complete the teacher training if they already hold a degree. This is funded through our partnership and enables them to undertake teacher training and qualify whilst also being paid. This is brilliant news, not only for our people, but for the children who attend our settings, ensuring the highest quality of teaching and learning is delivered and meaning our children are supported to be school ready, already confident across the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, according to their age and needs.
Kudzayi has been successful in moving into our Early Years Teacher position which is part of the settings leadership at Spring Howdon. She is leading on the curriculum across the nursery whilst guiding and supporting the experienced practitioners on all aspects of the EYFS curriculum. Kudzayi says “It is a very exciting opportunity that now I hold an Early Years Teacher qualification and I look forward to implementing my new skills and knowledge into Spring Nursery Howdon and sharing it with my colleagues. I have lots of new ideas on how I will lead on teaching and monitoring the learning and development of all children in my setting”.
Kudzayi completed her qualification during a pandemic year, which was tough. She has worked hard to complete her post graduate qualification whilst balancing working full time and looking after her family – and we are so proud of her achievements. Andrea King, Nursery Manager at Spring Howdon says “…we are very excited to have Ku as the first to complete the EYT through our partnership with Best Practice Network and we are already making plans, working with staff and parents to enhance our teaching and learning within Spring Howdon and ultimately making a difference to the children within our care”.
