As part of Spring Harlequin’s ongoing planning/events and celebrations we dedicated a whole week to Outdoor Learning, our nursery children this term love to explore and be curious in the outdoors and are always keen to learn more about nature often bringing worms, snails, insects and asking to measure and compare them!

Harlequin fosters a home from home environment with soft lighting, calm and cosy areas to allow the children to thrive from the curiosity approach that has been embedded, exploring, travelling with natural open ended resources to widen their imagination skills.

Our Outdoor area is a further extension to the indoors providing a purposeful approach that uses activities and resources to enhance learning, mental health and wellbeing, and environmental awareness, being surrounded by the sounds of nature and the outdoors also promotes and provides a positive cand calm stimulation to support children’s regulation, Children enjoy taking on new challenges and risks too to support their confidence and resilience development.

A huge thank you to our wonderful parents/families that contributed plants/seeds and pots to enhance our planting patch and a special thank you to our volunteer grandparent that carried out the activity with the children teaching them about the germination of growing!
Because of the generous help, the children were able to take part in the long list of activities listed below:
